Ayaka (Masami Ichikawa) is a full-time housewife in her fifth year of marriage. Her husband, Shingo, was busy working at a publishing company and lived a rustic life and a sexless couple life. At one point, Shingo's women's magazine featured "Open Marriage," a new marriage style for married couples. "Open marriage", which was advocated in the 1970s, was that if there was mutual agreement, we could freely have a relationship with other opposite sex. Shingo, who was requested by the editor-in-chief for an experience report, managed to persuade Ayaka ... After that, the two who found each other's sexual partners, with the excitement born from jealousy, disappeared from sexlessness and began to demand each other's bodies violently.

For all their colors and shapes, our plaques' stories are mostly the same. It was a few of our friends, in the last days of summer, trying to figure out how to remember. Sometimes we made them in secret. Sometimes we spent days on them. But a plaque could be a hastily-done afterthought, and it would still become a symbol to future generations of what friendship could really be, what it could mean in our lives. Some of us made several plaques - some of us never put our name on any. But anyone who's spent time in the Tzofim Bet Am knows that a unique, mysterious history lives on its walls, and what a summer once felt like, way back then. Because everyone loves a good story.

A thirteen year old kid, "the boy", lives and works in a cemetery. The cemetery is his whole life, and growing up with the dead instills in him an obsession and respect for death. His friends depend on him: An unhappy old man, a former political prisoner yearning for death, and makeup artist for deceased, a former artist who dreams of painting a masterpiece. The boy does what he can to help them. The old man attempts suicide, but upon learning the date of his death and seeing his beautiful plot chosen for him by the boy, he is able to bear his life. Upon meeting the beautiful Maria, "the boy" gives the former artist a surprise date with her. But when Maria and the artist become closer, the boy realizes that she is the daughter of the old man. The kid thinks the old man would die unhappy if he knew of her existence and so decides to hide the truth.
