The aswang has a lengthy cinematic history, having been the subject of the first sound film ever produced in the Philippines (1932's Ang Aswang) and migrating, in somewhat altered form, to films in Hong Kong, India, Japan, and, in 1994, to the United States. The versatile Max Linder heads a novel chase in this film, the pursuers being three dogs, the pets of the comedian's fiancée. Max was dreadfully afraid of dogs anyhow, and of these dogs in particular, because they were jealous when their mistress caressed Max. On the wedding day he had them locked up, but they escaped and ran to the parlor, where the ceremony was in progress. Max fled through numberless streets, houses, rooms, and finally to the roof, where he gave up and sent back a note by the dogs declining to marry and be devoured. The picture amuses.

A family returns to life thirty years after their death, then enters their grandchildren's new home in the era of the seventies, and they are surprised by the new aspects of life, changing customs and behaviors, where old values clash with the new; due to the social openness that occurred, as the girl going out in short clothes became normal, and drinking alcohol became permissible for children, and life changed dramatically.
