The documentary was filmed in Toronto, Canada; and in Los Angeles, California and New York City, New York in the US.

'Toby Tortoise Returns' features Max Hare and Toby Tortoise again, this time in a boxing ring. In 'Old King Cole', all the storybook friends are invited to the King's castle, whilst 'King Neptune' saves his subjects from pirates.

During an innocent party game at the friends' annual dinner on Walborg night, the hostess discovers that her husband is cheating on her with one of the friends. The discovery has significance for all the guests, as old relationships change and new ones are created.
