Per Sempre (Forever) examines the reasons that spur certain women to choose a religious life within a monastic community. The film starts with the fundamental question that prompts the film director to confront this reality: how is it possible, today, for a woman to make an extreme and permanent choice, one that will last forever?

We Want Roses Too
The film looks again at recent events from a female point of view, through the first-hand accounts provided by the diaries of three women. Rather than focusing on the alleged objectivity of facts, the film gives space to a chorus of voices that narrate those events in first person, visually supported by archival footage of the period, drawn from the most varied sources - institutional, public, militant and private. Anita, Teresa and Valentina come from different Italian regions and different social backgrounds, but share the same feelings: they no longer feel as part of a society based on the patriarchal family, on the power of "husbands" and on the supremacy of males, which requires them to be efficient mothers, obedient wives and virtuous daughters.

Mohammed decides the son of the lawyer Famous for Shawkat to surrender himself after he died during childbirth sweetheart Sameera, while Safwat commits suicide after his brother Shukri found his beloved Nana had speeches. The rest are arrested.
The Gift
Mashoto’s life in the city is a hustle. It’s a fast life in the fast city of Dar es Salaam. There’s no time to stop and Mashoto likes it this way. There’s no time to think about the people he left behind in the village. Until silence cuts through the city racket with three words: mother has died. With those words Mashoto’s life changes forever. He returns home, to the place he abandoned, to bury his only ally. Yet his mother has left behind a gift. Her voice, her unseen presence, a gentle whisper urging him to open his eyes and strain his ears- to learn the lessons of nature, of the earth and the roots that draw their nourishment from it. Cast out by his father after losing the little money his mother had left, Mashoto must learn to survive from the land. He must learn to face old enemies and forge new alliances, to fight and to love. Most of all, Mashoto must discover what it is he is fighting for.

Her two teenage employers also struggle and cope in their own way, but seem to take out their negative feelings on her. After running a series of stressful chores for them, Ate finds a familiar medicine that gives her an unexpected form of relief. Not only does it uplift her overall mood, but also finds a newfound connection with the teenagers at home.

Valia is a young woman used to observing others as part of her work, and so reality is becoming a canvas where characters live out a kind of life. She records the same shot with a small video camera: the street in front of her apartment where there is a restaurant. Some days later, she meets Guido, the owner of the Italian restaurant. Guido is her antithesis, perfectly adapted to daily life and conscious of his own social dimension. Valia, on the other hand, lives in this two-dimensional world, separated from what is actually happening and what she observes. Valia's life changes when she discovers a small lump on her breast and she is diagnosed with breast cancer. With Guido, Valia recovers her otherness while facing her end.
