An old man and his grand daughter rescue an injured young deer, and they develop a close relationship with it.

Set in 1930s China, the film details the trials of a group of athletes who desire to compete in the Olympic Games. There’s a snag, however. The full amount required to send them abroad for the games is 600,000 dollars, and the government is only sponsoring half. It falls to the athletes to raise the rest themselves, and they start by saving every last penny they earn. They also attempt to raise the money through a variety of fund-raising activities, including street performances, networking for donations, and probably a bake sale, too. After deciding to fund their own way to the games, the athletes take to the streets to perform all manner of athletic demonstrations and martial arts moves in an energetic and impromptu street fair.

Te-o begins life as a lonely son of a high-ranking officer. He buys his friends with money and ice cream. Eventually two of these boys, the orphans Euglena and Amoeba, become real friends. Years later, Te-o abandons his overseas education and returns home. From there is becomes a comedy of kidnapping, corruption, and chaos.

When she thinks the detective is just another ordinary patient with a need for a "cathartic" conversation and discussing his heady action detective experience, she realizes he's a much more complicated case, a case she might not be able to take in her stride.

The messengers of Yama, the god of death were unable to take away his life because of his great devotion and continual worship of Shiva.
